Sour Times and $15,000 worth of regret
By dougm | August 21, 2008
Sour times for this chick.
Adult performer unhappy with her decision to do HARDCORE PORN at 18, after the fact.
Injuries abound. Feels misused. Paying Mental Debts. She cashed her checks.
Probably retiring from the “Sexy” business.
Let’s start with this.
This performer did in the range of 20 porn films encompassing double digit scenes of masturbation, fellatio, cunilingus, lesbianism, public nudity, public lesbianism, group sex, solo sex and public sex. Hauling in big loot. She did it for a while, from Florida to LA and back to NYC.
That’s a lot of work to regret.
It’s tough, she’s a smart, pretty, funny and athletic girl. We shot with her last year, some indoor BurntFilm cheesecake, and she was great. We hired her through her “mainstream” portfolio, where she neglected to mention her career as a porn star. We didn’t find out about her adult performances until after we released some samples, and cats told us that they recognized her from some of those scenes.
She told me her story when I asked about it, saying that the companies who she worked with before us we’re assholes that took advantage of her at a point in her life when she was homeless and destitute. She’s been quoted as saying she was forced into porn. She’s been quoted as saying she sorta fell into porn. She said that at the time she was homeless, destitute and only did it to eat… She’s been qouted as saying that she was a professional couch surfer. She’s worked for FTV, Reality Kings and Penthouse.
What can I say? One flick and you made enough not to be homeless. 20 adult gigs with huge companies will draw you a decent years wage…
What’s the truth? 120 scenes and movies with a bunch of producers is hard to explain. If the 1st gig was a case of doing anything to escape destitution, what were gigs 2-7? What were gigs 8-12? What was forced? What was just for fun? Is the story revisionism in the face of regret or was her attitude at the time false bravado while walking a slippery slope?
I tended bar, packed boxes I waited in work lines in Jersey City, I’ve bussed thousands of tables and poured infinite drinks. High had to clean offices at night to make rent.
Some people take the easy money and then are unhappy with the repercussions. Wanting cake is one thing… working for it is another. you COULD make 10 g’s in 5 days. There is always a cost. There’s always a struggle. I see teenagers working fast food lines, I see Men busting their asses on Construction sites. I see the City and all of its people struggling day to day. There’s someone with an easy way out. There’s someone teaching hard lessons. There’s someone with an excuse.
Easy plot line, Hot young girl taken advantage of by those mean LA porn guys. What can I say to that? When I go into a strip club I see hot young girls taking advantage of men of all ages. What roles are played depend on the players.
Anyway, I don’t know those dudes, and I don’t really KNOW this chick. they’re in an entirely different world than me. I’ve horror stories before. People can be bastards. People take advantage of other people, and people DO force people into situations. Both Sexes, of course, for every scandalous motherfucker there’s a scandalous bitch. Then you add in hard drugs…
Dudes take advantage, Ladies take advantage, everyone is screwed or screwing. That seems to be the state of affairs.
So she did all that stuff with them, and then went back and did more… and then went back and did more again, …and again…and says she feels like she got fucked…
They ARE Porn producers, you know… What’s the trick?
So I ask myself,
role player and casual dramatist or victim of youthful indiscretion preyed upon by rotten people.
I don’t know know the answer.
EMOTIONALLY UNSTABLE?
who isn’t?
Base coverer.
We often rewrite our past indiscretions.
She’s maintained in her correspondence that she was happy working with BF and felt good about it. (I kept them) However absolved by her, we still feel sullied by the association with any part of her story, fiction or non. We do this for fun, we HAVE fun, and no model we work does anything they don’t want to. The fact that we shoot tease to nude puts the decision to disrobe in their hands once we offer them the gig. Our Karma is good.
LADIES! MEN!
BF isn’t in the business of telling people how to live unless they ask us too, and even then I’m not sure what’s right for this person or that person anyway.
I can tell you that People will fuck you. You know this anyway, but hear it again. Some people will absolutely fuck you. Of fucking course they will. Gentlemen, a lot of these women are NASTY tricks, compulsive liars and thieves. phonies and role players. Don’t fall for their B.S., because they’re attractive, they’ve been playing dudes like you their whole lives. Ladies these men are pimps and scoundrels, violent masochists and defensive rats, don’t buy into their smack, they’d sell their kid sister for a dime bag. Most of you deserve each other. That’s how you gravitate.
If you’re not a pimp, ho, trick or mark, and you dig being sexy and want to make a career of it, then:
Work with people you dig, don’t debase yourself, be honest and open with your limits, and if someone fucking forces you into something, call the fucking cops for fuck’s sake. Bring a companion to your gigs, even with cats you’ve worked with before. Read up on companies who want to hire you, find out exactly what they do.
Lay off the drugs! Drugs are fun times, but distort perception and can lead to bad decisions. You don’t make solid life decisions beaming off 5 lines, rolling on E, burnt out on weed or even mildly drunk. Most of us aren’t smart enough to make good decisions sober for fuck’s sake, don’t try to do it fucked up!
Instead of jumping into the hands of a producer out of the gate, correspond with some models and performers in the field you’re interested in, not one but a few, just because someone’s been there doesn’t mean they know what they’re doing! Hear their stories, find out who they trust. If you’re a new producer. do things right, make sure performer’s you hire know what they’re doing and don’t put people into compromising positions just because you could.
Lastly, Remember that YOU’RE CULPABLE. In America your ass is in your hands most of the time. Suckers for the quick reward often regret their decisions. You think you’re playing in the kitty pool you’re in for a big suprise when you try to touch bottom. Shit’s deep, and it’s your job to stay afloat. In the end it’s your lungs that get wet.
In the end I feel badly for the performer we’re discussing, whether she’s a scammer or not. She’s in a mental bind, and the negativity will steam roll. Lies Multiply. People get hurt. Whatever she did and whatever was done to her or not, it’s turned out negatively.
Live for what’s making you feel good.
Do things you feel good about. Have fun. Don’t go into the fucking shadows looking for the damn sun. You know it ain’t there.
I’m not sure any of that even made sense, but if you’re feeling down about the state of the adult industry that you derive so much personal pleasure from, you’re not alone. Just remember that plenty of people do stuff right, and plenty of performers and producers are actually decent people working hard to get by. Probably.
